Chemical reaction occuring in this reaction is as follows aligned & 2 Cu ₂ ~S +3 O ₂ 2 Cu ₂ O +2 SO ₂ & Cu ₂ O + 1 2 Cu ₂ ~S 3 Cu + 1 2 SO ₂ aligned The molten copper is allowed to cool. During cooling, dissolved SO ₂ comes out in the form of blisters, soit is called blister copper.
