Step-by-step solution

SOCl ₂ has one S =0 double bond and two S - Cl single bond. Hybridisation of S= 1 2 [6+2-0+0]=4 Thus, S is s p^3 . Since, SOCl ₂ has only three sigma bond, therefore it has one lone pair of electrons on S atom and hence its shape is pyramidal and the bond angle are less than 109.5^ due to repulsion between lone pairs. Further, since -electrons of the S = O bonds are more polarised, therefore, they repel the bond pair of S - Cl bond. Thus, making Cl - S - O bond larger than Cl - S - Cl bond angle.
