Primary coil of a transformer is connected to 220VAC220VAC. Primary and secondary turns of the transforms are 100and10100 and 10 respectively. Secondary coil of transformer is connected to two series resistances as shown in figure. The output voltage (V0)\left({V}_{0}\right) is :

Primary coil of a transformer is connected to 220VAC . Primary and secondary turns of the transforms are 100 and 10

Options

  1. A7V7V
  2. B15V15V
  3. C44V44V
  4. D22V22V

Correct answer

A. 7V7V

Step-by-step solution

Primary coil of a transformer is connected to 220VAC . Primary and secondary turns of the transforms are 100 and 10

Ratio of EMF developed will be given by,

εpεs=NpNs=10010⇒εs=22V\dfrac{{ε}_{p}}{{ε}_{s}} = \dfrac{{N}_{p}}{{N}_{s}} = \dfrac{100}{10} ⇒ {ε}_{s} = 22V

Therefore, current in secondary circuit will be

I=2222×103=1mAI = \dfrac{22}{22 \times {10}^{3}} = 1mA

Hence, potential drop across 7kΩ7kΩ will be V0=I×7kΩ=7V{V}_{0} = I \times 7kΩ = 7V
