The complete combustion of one mole of benzene produces grams of carbon dioxide.

Options

  1. A164
  2. B220
  3. C264
  4. D308

Correct answer

C. 264

Step-by-step solution

Benzene has the molecular formula of C 6 H 6 . Combustion reaction of benzene :- C 6 H 6   +   15 2 O 2   → 6 CO 2   + 3 H 2 O By the reaction, we can see that one mole of benzene on combustion gives the six mole of carbondioxide and three moles of water. Mole of carbondioxide = 6 Molar mass of carbondioxide = 44   g / mol Given mass of the carbondioxide = mole × molar   mass = 6 × 44 = 264   g Hence, the complete combustion of one mole of benzene produces 264 gram
