Step-by-step solution

When sulphur ( S ) is heated with Na ₂ SO ₃ , a compound Na ₂ ~S ₂ O ₃(A) is produced. When Na ₂ ~S ₂ O ₃ react with excess of AgNO ₃ solution, it will give a Ag ₂ ~S ₂ O ₃(B) which is a water soluble compound. Further Ag ₂ ~S ₂ O ₃ dissolves in water, to produce a black coloured sulphide Ag ₂ ~S (C) . Hence, compound A is Na ₂ ~S ₂ O ₃, B is Ag ₂ ~S ₂ O ₃ and C is Ag ₂ ~S .
