In Angiosperms phloem consists of sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem parenchyma and phloem fibres. Food material and other substances (Resin, mucilage and latex) are stored in phloem parenchyma. Phloem parenchyma is absent in monocots. Sieve tubes and companion cells are absent in Gymnosperms. Albuminous cells and sieve cells are present in gymnosperms. Xylem consists of tracheids, vessels, xylem parenchyma and xylem fibres. Vessels are absent in gymnosperms but elongated and tube like tracheids are present.
