It possesses calcium, phosphate, bicarbonate, enzymes prefibrolysin, clotting enzymes, and prostaglandins. Bulbourethral glands or Cowper's glands also secrete an alkaline fluid which neutralizes acids from urine in the urethera. Their secretion contributes the least to semen but is very important.
