During the G_1 -phase of cell division

Cell division has two phase : (a) Karyokinesis : Division of nucleus (b) Cytokinesis : Division of cytoplasm. Karyokinesis also consists of two phase : (i) Interphase is a resting phase and consists of $\mathrm{G}_1, \mathrm{~S}$ and $\mathrm{G}_2$-phase.
