Options

  1. Aosmosis
  2. Bimbibition
  3. Cguttation
  4. Dadhesion force

Correct answer

A. osmosis

Step-by-step solution

The force between walls and water called adhesion force. Diffusion of water from its pure or dilute solution into a stronger solution when the two are separated by a semi-permeable membrane is termed asosmosis. In plants water supply is due toosmosis. The absorption of water by the solid particles of an adsorbant without forming a solution is calledimbibition. The loss of water in the form of liquid droplets from the leaves and other parts of an uninjured or intact plant is called guttation.
