In Fischer-Ringe's method of separation of nobles gas mixture from air, is used

Options

  1. A90 % CaC ₂+10 % CaCl ₂
  2. Bcoconut charcol
  3. Csoda lime + potash solution
  4. D90 % CaCO ₃+10 % urea

Correct answer

A. 90 % CaC ₂+10 % CaCl ₂

Step-by-step solution

In Fischer Ringe's method, air free from moisture and CO ₂ is passed over a heated mixture (800^ C ) of 90 % CaC ₂+10 % CaCl ₂ in an iron tube, when following reactions take place CaC ₂+ N ₂ 800^ C CaCN ₂+ C aligned & 2 C + O 2 CO & C + O ₂ CO ₂ aligned array r 2 CaC ₂+3 CO ₂ 2 CaCO ₃+5 C CuO + CO Cu + CO ₂ array CO ₂ gas is now absorbed by KOH solution. Thus a mixture of inert gases is obtained.
