Gigantism and acromegaly are due to

The anterior pituitary secretes growth hormone. Often, it is known as somatotropin. Growth hormone hypersecretion produces gigantism in children and acromegaly in adults. A tumor in the thyroid is responsible for the hypersecretion of growth hormone in the pituitary gland (hyperpituitarism). Acromegaly has many unusual signs, including hand and foot enlargement, joint pain, tighter skin, deepening of the voice, headaches, and vision issues. Excessive growth of bones and enlargement of internal organs is caused by gigantism. Gigantism contributes to severe linear development, headaches, etc.
