Link reaction as the name suggests, it links or connects two cycles or reactions. The end product of glycolysis is pyruvic acid. This pyruvate molecule is decarboxylated in the mitochondria and is oxidized and converted to acetyl-coenzyme A. This oxidation or decarboxylation takes place in the presence of enzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase and is known as the link reaction between glycolysis and Krebs cycle.
