Nature of change in community during succession is __________
Nature of change in community during succession is __________
Options
- Aorderly, sequential and parallel with the changes in the physical environment.
- Bindependent of the changes in the physical environment.
- Cconstant change irrespective of environmental changes.
- Dindependent of the community.
Correct answer
A. orderly, sequential and parallel with the changes in the physical environment.
Step-by-step solution
Ecological succession is the gradual and fairly predictable change in the species composition of a given area.
The composition and structure of all communities constantly change in response to the changing environmental conditions.
This change is orderly and sequential, parallel with the changes in the physical environment.
These changes lead finally to a community that is in near equilibrium with the environment, called a climax community.
