One very common reaction of amide is Hoffmann's bromamide reaction in which amide get converted into amine having one carbon less than amide. For this reaction reagent is ( Br 2 / KOH   or   KOBr ) . Lithium aluminium hydride is very strong reducing agent which will convert amide into amine. Number of carbon is same in both amide and amine.
